DoD Cloud Authorization Process

The Cloud Assessment Division, as the DoD Cloud Authorization Services (DCAS) team, provides support to DoD components through the pre-screening, assessment, validation, and management of the initial authorization process for Cloud Service Offerings (CSO). There are multiple paths to a DoD Provisional Authorization (DoD).  DoD components who wish to sponsor a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) for a DoD Provisional Authorization and CSPs should be familiar with requirements in the Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide, available for download in the document library.  Sponsors and CSPs should also be familiar with the cloud authorization process; a summary presentation is available for download from the document library. When ready to proceed with sponsorship, the DoD component sponsor should visit the DoD Cloud Authorization Services (DCAS) (DoD CAC Needed) site to submit a request form. The DCAS site contains a list of all CSOs that have a DoD Provisional Authorization (PA) and CSOs that are going through the process for a PA. A summary of the cloud authorization process is available for download in the document library.
