Mission
The immediate notification of emerging vulnerabilities to command channels and those responsible for corrective actions, and timely resolution of vulnerabilities is crucial to system integrity, since most attacks are attempts to exploit widely known system weaknesses. DISA created the Vulnerability Management System (VMS) to assist in this critical effort, and as a response to a DOD mandate.
