Updated CAE Application Checklist

The National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) Programs has been undergoing an evolution of the requirements, processes, and development of a new NCAE Application Tool.  New / Re-designating Institutions will be assigned cycles and apply through the new NCAE Application Tool. The old NCAE Application Tool found at www.nsa.gov/NIETP will only be used for historical purposes only.

Updated CAE Application Checklist:

While we are in this transition period we ask that you acquaint yourself with the NCAE-C requirements and complete the updated NCAE Checklist.  All institutions must complete the NCAE Application Checklist. The Application Checklist will guide the applicant through the new program requirements and provide a self-assessment of readiness. Once the results have been reviewed, your institution will be referred to Program Development or Application Assistance.

  • Program Development – Applicants who are assessed to be more than one year from designation will be assigned to Program Development.  In this phase, the applicant will have access to workshops, seminars and an advisor to guide them in their preparation for designation.  Institutions in this phase will also be invited to programs and events hosted by the CAE Community (caecommunity.org)and have access to other resources offered by the Program Office only for the CAE audience.
  • Application Assistance – Applicants who are assessed to be within one year of readiness for designation will be assigned to Application Assistance.  In this phase, the applicant will work directly with a mentor for guidance to completing the application. Institutions in this phase will also be invited to programs and events hosted by the CAE Community (caecommunity.org)and have access to other resources offered by the Program Office only for the CAE audience.
