Overview

The Identity Synchronization Service (IdSS) Machine interface provides DoD Combatant Commands, Services, and Agencies (CC/S/A’s) with a way to consume data from the IdSS. The primary sources for this data are DMDC’s Person Data Repository (PDR) for DoD person and persona data and DISA’s Global Directory Service (GDS) for user PKI certificates.

Why Should I Use It?

The establishment of an IdMI connection with DISA provides a well-defined EDS interface with enterprise identity and contact information for DoD-level and Component-level IT directory systems. Utilizing an IdMI connection helps DoD Components achieve compliance with the DoD CIO EDS Memo.

How Can I Use It?/idam/dod-cio-eds-memo-compliance/

One IdMI connection is available per CC/S/A. There are several different IdMI connection options available. For more information on establishing an IdMI connection, refer to the IdMI Customer Interface Specification (CIS) on the Program Documentation page or contact the DISA EDS team.

Documentation

All IdMI reference materials are available on the Program Documentation page. This is only available on DoD Cyber Exchange NIPR.
